Confusing Racism With Cultural Identity

MELANET UnCut Chat and Discussion: MelaNet UnCut Talk: Confusing Racism With Cultural Identity
By Martin ( - on Sunday, March 4, 2001 - 06:36 am:

I think one of the biggest problems between people
now is that we are so afraid of racism that we are
confusing racism with cultural identity. A
preference does not equate hate. Just because I
like strawberries doesn't mean I hate cherries.

This goes for everybody white black and blue. Well
blue is wierd. If you are blue I definately don't
like you lol.

When the blues move into the neighborhood
property values go down.

lol burble. I don't understand that either Martin. I personally am proud of my ethnicity and appreciate all others. I don't get offended when someone is proud of their ancestors, etc. just because I am not the same nationality.

What is "cultural identity"?

What is "racism"?
